  • Online bids will be updated on the website throughout the day until closing August 19, 7:30 PM.
  • In the event of identical bids, the earlier will be tbe accepted bid.
  • Item viewing and LIVE bidding will take place in the Kelowna Yacht Club (KYC) entrance foyer Thursday, August 17, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday, August 18, 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM and Saturday, August 19, 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
  • Winners will be announced at the KYC Commodore’s Cup Regatta Saturday dinner/dance shortly after bidding closes.

35. Red Rooster 2016 Pinot Blanc and Sandhill 2014 Merlot

RED ROOSTER PINOT BLANC: Gentle treatment and whole cluster pressing
was used to extract a clean, pure fruit expression. For added depth and
complexity, a small portion of the wine was exposed to French oak and
aged Sur Lie for 5 months.
SANDHILL MERLOT: Typical smoky, spicy rubbery notes with coffee, black
cherry, celery salt, and a wisp of tobacco. Dry and firm on the palate
with smoky oak, vanilla, resiny, tobacco and cherry flavours. Tight and
youthful not showing much charm at this point but should settles down
over the next year.

36. Conviction 2016 Pinot Grigio – The Financier and 2015 Wayne Gretzky Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah

CONVICTION PINOT GRIGIO: This medium-bodied Pinot Grigio has a
slightly rich mouth-feel with flavours of pear and honeydew melon.
WAYNE GRETZKY CABERNET SAUVIGNON/SYRAH: Flavour characteristics of dark
berries, spice, vanilla, oak and a touch of tobacco leaf both in the nose
and on the palate. Ready to drink now but will cellar for up to five
years. The palate is medium to full-bodied with integrated tannins and
refreshing acidity.

From 50+ years old vines; Tempranillo (95%) and Graciano (5%); aged for 24 months in new barrels.
Ruby red, clean and bright. Notes of ripe red fruit on the nose over a very elegant balsamic background. The palate is soft, cool and spirited. It has a good body and the tannins are well-integrated and polished. In the aftertaste hints of very ripe red fruit with liqueur nuances reappear making it a wine with a long finish.
